Regular Meeting
Tuesday June 23, 2009
The Board of Supervisors met in Session on the above date with the following members present: Condon, Dencklau, Motl, and Peterson. Absent: Singer.
Moved by Dencklau, seconded by Motl to approve minutes of the June 16, 2009 regular meeting. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Motl, seconded by Peterson to receive and place on file the Drainage Repairs in Joint Drainage District #35 Webster and #18 Greene Counties, Iowa. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Peterson, seconded by Dencklau to approve and authorize Chair to sign Agreements between Webster County and Teamsters Local 238 Deputy Sheriff’s and Jailers for period July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2012. (Copies on file in Auditor’s office). Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Dencklau, seconded by Motl to approve salary increase of Steve Drew, Case Manger to $19.46, per hour, effective June 18, 2009, per recommendation of Irene Blair, Community Services Administrator. Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Peterson, seconded by Dencklau to approve various department appropriation changes for fiscal year 2008-2009 as follows: Decrease Department 002 (Auditor) $4,000 and increase Department 003 (Treasurer); and decrease Department 023 (Public Health) $2,950 and increase Department 029 (Homemakers) $2,950. Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Peterson, seconded by Dencklau to approve appointment of the following as Webster County MH/DD/BI Planning Committee Members for Fiscal Year 2009-2010: Brian Schmidt, Beth Stuhr, Richard Scisco, Diana Johnson, Jim Burr, Martha Miller, Linda Smith, Teresa Naughton, Kim Motl, Deb Delp, Joyce Hay, Melissa Ristau, Mary Augustus and Gregg Kraemer.
Moved by Dencklau, seconded by Motl to approve and authorize Chair to sign MH/DD service provider contracts as follows: Covenant Medical Center, Inc. and Georgiana B. Meadow, PLC. (Copy on file in CPC’s office). Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Motl, seconded by Peterson to approve Cigarette and Tobacco Permit for Pop N Go, Inc, effective July 1, 2009. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Peterson, seconded by Dencklau to approve and authorize Chair to sign agreement with Iowa DOT to use 2.5 miles of paved Route P-70 as a temporary detour route until June 30, 2009 during construction of Iowa Highway 175. (Copy on file in Engineer’s office). Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Dencklau, seconded by Motl to receive and place on file resignation of John T. Wafful from the Secondary Road Department effective June 12, 2009. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Motl, seconded by Peterson to approve and authorize Chair to sign permit application from Chuck Becker to pave driveway with hot mix asphalt from the edge of existing paved roadway of Route D-54 to the existing right-of-way line at entrance to his property at 3378 Xavier Avenue, Dayton, Iowa in Section 36, Township 87 North, Range 27 West, Yell Township. Motion carried unanimously.
At 10:30a.m. Public Hearing was held on the first consideration to adopt proposed Webster County Ordinance No. 046: Zoning Ordinance establishing Zoning regulations for unincorporated portions of Webster County, Iowa. No written or oral objections were heard. Following a brief review of said ordinance, Chairman Condon closed the hearing.
Moved by Dencklau, seconded by Motl to approve first consideration to adopt proposed Webster County Ordinance No. 046: Zoning Ordinance establishing Zoning regulations for unincorporated portions of Webster County, Iowa. Roll call vote: Ayes – Dencklau, Motl, Peterson and Condon. Nays – none. Motion carried.
Moved by Motl, seconded by Peterson to waive second consideration to adopt proposed Webster County Ordinance No. 046: Zoning Ordinance establishing Zoning regulations for unincorporated portions of Webster County, Iowa; and to set July 7, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. as the time and date for final consideration of said Ordinance No. 046. Roll call vote: Ayes – Dencklau, Motl, Peterson and Condon. Nays – none. Motion carried.
