According to the World Health Organization (WHO) and published in the British Journal of Medicine, it is officially recommended that people with COVID-19 or who are symptomatic avoid taking ibuprofen and other anti-inflammatory medicines like Aleve, Advil, or Naproxen.

The WHO warns that the drug could worsen effects of the virus. Patients who have been prescribed ibuprofen by their healthcare provider should seek guidance from that doctor. In the case of a fever, the WHO recommends taking paracetamol, or Tylenol.
